SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — The community is mourning the tragic loss of 27-year-old Anna Maureen LeCoq, who died following a motor vehicle collision in the Woodruff area of Spartanburg County on Friday evening, June 5, 2026.

According to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger, emergency personnel were called to Spartanburg Medical Center after a crash victim was transported to the emergency department for urgent treatment. Despite medical efforts, LeCoq succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

Officials said the collision occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Aiken Road in the Woodruff area.

The victim was later identified as Anna Maureen LeCoq of Bridwell Road in Woodruff.

Authorities with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. As part of the ongoing inquiry, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office will also conduct a forensic examination to assist in determining the cause of death and contributing factors.
