MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A 35-year-old motorcyclist from Murfreesboro, identified as Nicholas Daley, has died following a hit-and-run crash at the I-24 west and I-59 south split, according to authorities.
Georgia State Patrol troopers responded to the scene just before 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, after receiving reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle on the interstate.
Hit-and-Run Collision Under Investigation
Investigators say a red or brown sedan struck the right side of Daley’s motorcycle, forcing it off the roadway and onto the left shoulder and median. Following the impact, the driver of the sedan reportedly continued westbound on I-24 without stopping.
Daley’s motorcycle then struck the end of a guardrail before crashing.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and provided immediate medical assistance at the scene. Daley was transported to a nearby hospital, but despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, he was later pronounced deceased.
