Jadence Ann Marie Hale Obituary, Death Flat Lick, Kentucky – Three Young Lives Lost in Laurel County Murder-Suicide Following Police Pursuit

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A tragic and rapidly unfolding incident in southern Laurel County has left three young people dead and multiple law enforcement agencies working to determine the full circumstances surrounding what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide.

According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, and Barbourville City Police Department are jointly investigating the deaths of three individuals found inside a vehicle following a police pursuit on the night of June 6, 2026.

Police Pursuit Begins After Domestic Violence Concern

Authorities say the incident began around 10:43 p.m. when Barbourville City Police were notified that a red Chevrolet Cobalt was being pursued in connection with a reported domestic violence complaint.

The initial report stemmed from concerns raised after three individuals left a residence in Barbourville to get food. Family members later contacted Knox County Dispatch, reporting a possible domestic situation involving those inside the vehicle.

Barbourville police located the vehicle, but it failed to stop, leading officers on a pursuit that crossed from Knox County into Laurel County.

Pursuit Ends in Laurel County

The chase came to an end on KY 312 in southern Laurel County when officers attempted to box in the fleeing vehicle. During the maneuver, the vehicle struck another car before coming to a stop.

When officers approached the scene, they made a tragic discovery inside the vehicle.

Three Victims Identified

Authorities identified the deceased as:

James Priddy, 21, of Bimble, Kentucky
Jadence Ann Marie Hale, 18, of Flat Lick, Kentucky
Kira Lila Hope Asher, 19, of Lily, Kentucky

Investigators say preliminary findings indicate that James Priddy allegedly shot and killed Hale and Asher before turning the weapon on himself. Officials stressed that the investigation remains active and ongoing as evidence continues to be collected and reviewed.
