JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Middleburg woman, identified as 34-year-old Allison Bell, has died following a tragic head-on collision Friday evening on Normandy Boulevard at US-301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers reported that the crash occurred at approximately 5:54 p.m. when Bell was traveling eastbound on Normandy Boulevard. For reasons still under investigation, her vehicle reportedly veered out of its lane and crossed into oncoming westbound traffic.

Investigators said her vehicle entered the path of an oncoming pickup truck driven by a 38-year-old Duval County man. Despite the driver’s attempt to avoid the collision, both vehicles collided head-on.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed that Allison Bell was pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries and was not transported for further medical treatment.

Authorities noted that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
